Wheel Alignment

The modern car is built for comfort, performance and handling. In order to achieve and maintain the best ride possible, the steering and suspension needs to be measured and adjusted.

Incorrect alignment can result in rapid irregular tyre wear and can even affect the handling and safety of the vehicle.

Puncture Repair

Repairing a tyre is not as straightforward as you first might think.

Our tyre repairs are covered by a British Standard - BSAU159f:1990. The British Standard also defines limits to the location, size and number of repairs that can be carried out and makes recommendations also on the repair materials to be used.

A tyre must always be checked thoroughly before it is repaired. If the tyre displays any of the following, it should not be repaired;

• Illegal tread depth (below 1.6mm across the central ¾ of the tyre tread throughout the entire circumference)
• Run flat damage - breakdown of the tyre's structural integrity
• Secondary damage - caused by the injuring object
• Ageing/deterioration of tyre rubber
• Bead damage
• Exposed cords
• Faulty/poor previous repairs

We complete FREE Tyre Safety Checks. Whether you want to check them for your MOT, for an upcoming long journey, or a monthly check, please feel free to pop along.  We suggest this to all our friends and family, and it will be no trouble for us to do for all.

What does a FREE Tyre Safety Check consist of?

This means we will provide a health check for tyres by checking your tyre pressure and inflate your tyres to the optimum level, we look at your tyre for any damage and check Tyre Tread size, and inform you where they are compared to the legal requirement, allowing you to feel safe in the knowledge you know your tyre condition.

Tyre Safety Classes

The classes are small, we offer a Saturday class once a month for anyone to attend, whether you are a learner driver, just passed your test, bought a new car, or would like to know more, then this is for you;

What will it consist of?

In part one we will run through the specifics for your individual car/tyre requirements, how to check your tyres, your legal requirements, what to do if your tyre is flat or damaged?  You will understand the basics and call family/friends/ a mobile tyre fitter should something happen.

The second part will show you how to change your tyre safely. (This section is optional, and available should you wish to complete this.) 

You will go away confident, knowing you have the skills to keep you, and anyone else travelling with you safe,  you have a plan in an emergency, and know how to deal with the situation for your specific vehicle.
